2.4 million families starve while 180 tons of cooked food thrown away as trash every day

Source

Various surveys reveal that 2.4 million families of the country’s population cannot get three meals a day while Ranil Wickramasinghe spends more public money by launching a campaign called ‘Don’t Leave Anyone Behind’.
Meanwhile, a recent survey conducted by the Western Province Solid Waste Management Unit has revealed that 180,000 kilos of cooked food is wasted every day in that province. Although Ranil Wickramasinghe has launched the campaign across the country, no plan has been prepared to prevent the wastage of cooked food in the Western Province.
From the beginning of this year, international organizations had warned that Sri Lanka would suffer a severe food shortage. At present, those warnings are becoming a reality, and many people cannot get their three main meals. However, Ranil Wickramasinghe, regardless of such a calamity, has launched the campaign to boost his image.
