51st session of UNHRC begins today
The 51st session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) will commence in Geneva, Switzerland today and will continue till October 7.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is scheduled to present a detailed report on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka to the 51st Session today (12).
The Sri Lankan delegation to the UNHRC will be led by Foreign Affairs Minister Ali Sabry PC and Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe PC.
Meanwhile, MPs Kavinda Jayawardene and Mujibur Rahman will also attend the session representing the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).
