Basil forced to turn back at BIA?

The Sri Lanka Immigration and Emigration Officers' Association (SLIEOA) has decided to withdraw from functioning at the Silk Route Passenger Clearance Terminal at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) from this morning until further notice.

Chairman of the Association -  K.A.A.S Kanugala said the trade union took this step as there is a possibility of accused VIPs using the Terminal to leave the country.

Meanwhile, reports also say that former Finance minister - Basil Rajapaksa, who had arrived at the BIA to leave the country, was forced to return after meeting with strong protest at the airport.
