Bimal meets representatives of major TUs & leftist organizations in Italy

Bimal Rathnayake, JVP National Organizer and National Executive Member of National People’s Power, who is in Italy to address the meetings of the National People’s Power with the participation of Sri Lankans living there, has held a bilateral meeting with the representatives of USB, a major trade union in Italy, and Rete dei Communisti The Network of Communists).
The meeting was held yesterday (18) at the USB trade union headquarters in Rome.
Pierpaolo Leonardi from the foreign branch of the USB trade union, Nicoletta Testa from the foreign branch of the USB trade union, and Alessandro Perri from the Rete dei Communisti organization participated in the discussion.
The discussion has been on the trade union movement in the two countries, the political situation in Sri Lanka, the state repression in Sri Lanka, the non-holding of elections and the support of the USB trade union in the professional problems faced by the Sri Lankan community working in Italy. They have also discussed, especially, the delays in obtaining the services of the Italian Embassy in Sri Lanka and the joint measures that can be taken to stop irregularities.
JVP Central Committee Member Sudath Adhikari has also taken part in the discussion.
