Actress-turned-politician Khushboo Sundar has been nominated as a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW). Sundar, a member of the National Executive Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), shared the notification of her appointment on social media.
She tweeted, “I thank our Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and the Government of India for entrusting me with such a huge responsibility. I will work hard for the protection, security and prosperity of Nari Shakti, which is marching ahead at a quadruple pace day and night under your leadership. Looking forward to working further. Long live India.”
BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit president K Annamalai congratulated Sundar on his appointment to the NCW. He said Sundar’s appointment was a recognition of her “tireless efforts and strenuous struggle” for women’s rights. Besides Sundar, two others have also been named as NCW members.
