Commemorative stamps to mark India's 75th independence day
The Departments of Post in India and Sri Lanka are to collaboratively issue a set of commemorative stamps to mark India's 75th Independence day.
Cabinet approval has been granted for the two countries to ink an MoU in this regard.
Making the announcement at the Cabinet briefing held in Colombo today (16), Cabinet spokesman - minister Bandula Gunawardena said that the theme would be 'democracy'
He said that 3,000 stamp sets, 5,000 souvenir sheets and 2,000 first-day covers will be exchanged from both parties each.
