Criminals that devastated Yala still at large
Internal information reveals that proper investigations are not being carried out to arrest the real criminals who illegally drove vehicles to the Yala National Sanctuary and caused havoc.
The Wildlife Department and the Sri Lankan Police continue to hesitate in taking action against the criminals despite the information that has been revealed in the related investigations. According to reports, only several criminals belonging to the third tier have been arrested.
As Minister Mahinda Amaraweera had stated, no independent, impartial investigations have been carried out. Environmentalists and personnel with expert understanding of wildlife crimes have been avoided when conducting relevant investigations.
