A meeting between the JVP and a delegation of European Parliament representatives that included European Parliament member Miguel Urban Crespo representing Spain’s Anti-Capitalistas met was held at the JVP party head office on the 2nd. JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva, National Organizer Bimal Ratnayake and Central Committee Member Wasantha Samarasinghe took part.
The purpose of the delegation’s visit to Sri Lanka is to obtain information related to a study they are conducting on Sri Lanka’s debt crisis., After such a study, they have also prepared a report regarding the Greek debt crisis.
A long exchange of views took place between this group and the JVP representatives regarding the JVP’s views on the economic crisis. The delegation also included two representatives from the Anticapitalistas party representing the European Parliament, and they have a representation of about 21% of the local governments in Spain.
