EU concerned over use of PTA to arrest activists
The Delegation of the European Union to Sri Lanka has raised concerns about the use of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) with regard to several recent arrests.
"Concerned about reports on the use of the Prevention of Terrorism Act in recent arrests as we refer to information given by #GoSL to the International Community about the de-facto moratorium of the use of #PTA," the EU mission in Sri Lanka has Tweeted.
The EU’s statement comes after several activists have been arrested, with some being detained under the PTA.
