Ex-CID boss reveals five obstacles that prevent hunt of mastermind of Easter conspiracy
Senior Superintendent of Police Ravi Seneviratne, former head of the CUD, disclosed in a public programme broadcast by TNL TV channel last night (18th) about five points where all the investigations of the Easter terror attack conspiracy have stalled.
The five points where the investigation has stalled the former CID chief revealed are:
- Obstructing the identification of Abuhid
- Inability to obtain relevant information from Suresh Saleh despite obtaining orders from the court
- Stopping the State Intelligence Agency from investigating Bandara, known as Sonic Sonic.
- Unable to go beyond a phone IMEI number.
- With the discovery of explosives at Vavunathivu, military intelligence agencies reached the spot even before the officials of the CID reached there
In the discussion, retired Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne, the former head of the CD, further said that even during the launching of terrorist attacks by the LTTE organization, they were not able to carry out suicide attacks in many places in such an organized manner at the same time. However, it was emphasized that there is a strong suspicion that a force that carried out this attack that went beyond that situation and directed the assassination of Islamic extremist leader Saharan Hashim existed.
