GMOA warns of Omicron variant
The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) says that the Omicron 2.75 variant of Corona that is spreading across India is likely to spread in Sri Lanka and necessary steps need to be taken immediately.
Dr. Aluthge noted that although this variant has not been reported in Sri Lanka so far, timely preparation is vital.
Secretary of the GMOA Dr. Haritha Aluthge said that if the disease spreads in the midst of the economic crisis in the country, the people will not be able to pay attention to it.
Therefore, he said that the Ministry Technology Advisory Committee should meet immediately to take the necessary measures.
The GMOA has also informed the Health Ministry to take steps to persuade those who have not obtained all three doses of the vaccine to do so.
