Going green is ‘all well and good if you’re wealthy’ but could go wrong
The Daily Telegraph’s Tim Blair says being eco-friendly is “all well and good when you’re wealthy” but in nations like Sri Lanka, there are drawbacks.
Mr Blair said Sri Lanka abandoned fertiliser and went “completely organic” when it came to its crops.
“And then the crops failed, tea crop failed, Sri Lanka lost so much money on tea alone,” he told Sky News host Chris Smith.
“Energy is collapsing there, they’ve got no power, they’ve got no money, they’ve got no food.”
