Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who managed to escape from around 35 cases filed against him due to Presidential immunity, might have to go to courts after all, and therefore, it isn't bad that he came back, says General Secretary of the JVP - Tilvyn Silva.

He was speaking at a meeting held at the Raigama area in Bandaragama.

Now he is neither the President or an MP, nor does he have a party... He is merely a citizen, Mr. Silva said.

He said that Mr. Rajapaksa was compelled to come back to Sri Lanka after no other country accepted him.

Now, there is an opportunity to reopen the cases that were filed against him... Therefore, we hope that those in the legal profession will do so. We can then see how he goes to court and gives answers, he further said.
