IMF gives USD 2.9 billion loan to Sri Lanka

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Sri Lankan authorities have reached a staff-level agreement to support Sri Lanka's economic policies, the IMF officially announced a short while ago.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka will receive USD 2.9 billion under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) with a 48-month arrangement.
