IMF provisionally agrees on US$ 2.9 billion loan for Sri Lanka
The International Monetary Fund has agreed to provide an amount of US$ 2.9 billion to Sri Lanka under a four-year programme.
However, the IMF says that the approval of the management and executive council of the International Monetary Fund is required to receive this loan. It will also go through only if Sri Lankan authorities carry out previously agreed measures.
Making an official announcement in this regard, the IMF said that an agreement had been reached between Sri Lanka and the International Monetary Fund. Depending on this loan amount, the average monthly disbursement is a little more than 60 million dollars.
