In India, 10,158 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in a day, which is the highest daily number of cases recorded in the last about eight months. At the same time, the number of patients under treatment in the country has increased to 44,998. These are the maximum number of daily cases reported in the country after 230 days. Last year on August 26, 10,256 daily cases of infection were reported. On Wednesday, 7,830 daily cases of infection were reported in the country. According to the updated data released by the Union Health Ministry at eight o’clock on Thursday, nine patients from Maharashtra, two from Gujarat and one each from Delhi, Kerala, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu died due to corona virus infection in the country. The number of people lost increased to 5,31,035. While re-reconciling the figures of death due to infection, Kerala has added four more names to the list of patients who succumbed to the global pandemic. As per the latest data, the daily rate of infection in India is 4.42 per cent and the weekly rate is 4.02 per cent. At present, 44,998 people are being treated for corona virus infection in the country, which is 0.10 percent of the total cases. The national rate of recovery of patients is 98.71 percent. So far a total of 4,42,10,127 people have become infection free, while the death rate from Kovid-19 is 1.19 percent. According to the website of the Ministry of Health, 220,66,24,653 doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign in India. Significantly, on August 7, 2020, the number of corona virus infected in India had crossed 20 lakhs, on August 23, 2020, 30 lakhs and on September 5, 2020, more than 40 lakhs. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November. On 19 December 2020, these cases had crossed one crore in the country. On May 4, 2021, the number of infected had crossed two crore and on June 23, 2021, it crossed three crore.
