The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress says that it will announce today which candidate it will support in the election to select a President.

The election is scheduled to be held on the 20th in Parliament, and nominations will be entertained on the 19th.

However, it is reported that there is a split within the party with some wanting to extend support to Ranil Wickremesinghe and others wanting to back Sajith Premadasa.
