
A military aircraft from Myanmar carrying humanitarian aid has arrived at the Katunayake Air Force Base, intended to support people in Sri Lanka affected by the recent adverse weather conditions.
The aircraft landed last night (06), accompanied by a delegation from the Myanmar government.
The aid consignment includes sanitary items, medical supplies and other essential goods.
Myanmar Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Marla Than Htaik, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, Zaw Phyo Win, along with several other representatives of the Myanmar government, were present at the handover of the relief assistance.
Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva, Director General (Planning) of the Sri Lanka Air Force, together with a group of Air Force officers, was also in attendance to receive the consignment.
