Police say protesters at the Polduwa junction yesterday (13) had stolen a T-56 firearm and 60 bullets from a Sri Lanka Army soldier.

A complaint has been lodged in this regard with the Borella Police.

The soldier and a policeman who had been in charge of the firearm and ammunition have been hospitalized after being assaulted by protestors, police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.
