Queer Tamil Pride event in Scarborough this weekend
Queer Tamil Collective is hosting its first-ever Pride Ondrukoodal at the Scarborough Historical Museum this weekend.
The Sunday, June 19 Pride will celebrate the Tamil Queer, Trans and Non-Binary community. This free-to-attend event will have vendors, live music, free food and interactive art between 5 and 9 p.m.
Also on June 19 is the ultimate day party by Pride Toronto: Til Sunset: “The Jam Down” on Toronto Island with DJs and performers.
In-person Pride events are back in Toronto this month including a number of engaging community celebrations. Here are some community Prides coming up:
• Senior Pride, June 18, 1 to 4 p.m., at Rekai Centres;
• Sober Pride, June 24, 7 to 11 p.m. and June 25, 26, 1 to 11 p.m. at Paul Kane House Parkette;
• Bi+ Pride, June 24, 8:30 to 11 p.m. at Fido South Stage;
• Trans Pride, June 24, 7 to 11 p.m. at Allan Gardens;
• Family Pride, June 25, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and June 26, 1 to 5 p.m. at Church Street Junior Public School;
• Youth Pride with SOY (Supporting Our Youth), June 25, 6 to 11 p.m. at Church Street Junior Public School;
• Dyke Pride, June 25, 1 to 6 p.m. at Allan Gardens;
• Journée Francophone, June 25, 1 to 11 p.m. at Fido South Stage;
• 2Spirit Pride, June 26, 1 to 6 p.m. at Allan Gardens.
