Colombo (LNW): Chairman of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress (CWC), former Minister of the Uva Province and former acting Chief Minister of the Uva Province Muththuvinayagam Senthil Thondaman is to be appointed as the new Governor of the Eastern Province, reports confirmed. Three new governors are to be appointed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe tomorrow (17), and all arrangements for the appointment of Mr. Thondaman as the Eastern Province’s new Governor have now been completed, sources closer to the President divulged.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports claimed that a Tamil lady in the public administration service is to be appointed as the new Governor of the Northern Province, and a former minister as the Governor of the Uva Province.
