SLC donates US$ 500,000 to the Apeksha Hospital

Sri Lanka Cricket has handed over a cheque of USD 500,000 to the President as a donation to the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama.

The donation was made during a felicitation ceremony organized to recognize achievements of netballers and cricketers during the recently concluded Asian Championship and the Asia Cup respectively as well as those who competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Each netball player of the victorious team received Rs. 2 million by the SLC.

In addition, the Commonwealth Silver Medalists received Rs. 10 million each, while Bronze Medalists received Rs. 5 million each. The coaches of the winning athletes were also felicitated during this event and they were accorded 25% of the cash rewards presented to the athletes. These rewards were made available from the sports fund. 

The ceremony was held under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
