Tourism and Lands Minister Harin Fernando said that he believes that Sri Lanka will see a historic number of tourist arrivals in December if the group of timewasters take a step back and allow the country to move forward.

 Minister Fernando said this in response to a question posed by Galle District SLPP MP Sampath Athukorala whether there is an immediate programme to boost the tourism industry.

Minister Fernando also said that some Opposition groups are talking about bringing tourists to the country while they themselves are trying to overturn and surround the Parliament.
