It is reported that Pankaj Jain, Secretary of India’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Shirkant Madhav Vaidya, Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, are scheduled to visit Colombo today (24). It is also said that they both come for very short trips. It is reported that they will join a special discussion with the appointed President Ranil Wickremesinghe, and then visit the Trincomalee Oil Tank Complex. Fortune ‘Global 50company controlled by the Government of India, is the parent company of Indian Oil Corporation, which controls Lanka IOC. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas supervises the operations of Indian Oil Corporation. Early last year, Lanka IOC and the Sri Lankan government-run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation formed a joint venture called Trinco Petroleum Terminal Limited to develop oil tanks in Trincomalee.
