UN concern regarding Ranil Wickremesinghe’s Galle Face attack
The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka, Hanna Singer Hamdy, said in a tweet that the United Nations is paying close attention to the way Ranil Wickremesinghe’s government is using force to disperse the Galle Face protesters.
The message further states that journalists and human rights defenders have the right to monitor its functioning and should not be hindered.
Hanna Singer Hamdi further points out that consulting the people is the only way forward is to go for a peaceful solution.
