UNSG urges party leaders to compromise to end political impasse
Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres has urged the party leaders to 'embrace the spirit of compromise for a peaceful resolution' to the current political impasse in the country.
Issuing a statement, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said he is following the developments in Sri Lanka very closely.
He emphasises that it is important that the root causes of the conflict and protestors’ grievances are addressed.
