Who tells the truth about Gota’s expenses, Mohan or Bandula?
A few hours after Minister Bandula Gunawardena announced that the government of Sri Lanka bears the foreign expenses of Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who was ousted from the presidency by the public, the news director announced that the government does not pay those expenses.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena responding to a question raised in a press conference replied that the Sri Lankan government bears Gotabaya Rajapakse’s foreign expenses.
However, an official announcement signed by the Director of Government Information Mohan Samaranayake and released later dismissed the minister’s statement. The announcement emphasized that Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s expenses incurred abroad are met from his personal funds.
