July 21, Colombo (LNW): SriLankan Airlines has temporarily suspended all scheduled flights to Kuwait as escalating tensions and the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East continue to affect regional air travel.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) confirmed that the national carrier has put its Kuwait operations on hold with effect from 20 July. The suspension is expected to remain in place until 26 July 2026, although the airline will continue to monitor developments before deciding on the resumption of services.
The precautionary measure has been introduced in response to the evolving conflict in the region, with passenger and crew safety remaining the airline’s foremost priority. Similar operational adjustments have been made by several international carriers in recent weeks as airlines reassess flight routes and schedules amid heightened security concerns.
