July 26, Colombo (LNW): Sri Lankan cinema has received a welcome boost on the international stage after actors Mahendra Perera and Priyantha Sirikumara secured top honours at the Malaysia Golden Global Awards 2026 for their acclaimed performances in the feature film Riverstone.

Veteran actor Mahendra Perera was named Best Actor for his portrayal of Sergeant Udayasiri, a performance that has now earned him prestigious international recognition and further cemented his reputation as one of Sri Lanka’s most accomplished screen performers.

Adding to the film’s success, Priyantha Sirikumara claimed the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in Riverstone, giving the Sri Lankan production a memorable double triumph at the ceremony held in Malaysia.
