A meeting between UNDP and NPP
The United Nations Development Programme and the National People’s Power met at the JVP Head office this morning (1).
UNDP representatives explained to the National People’s Power representatives about their programmes launched in Sri Lanka. They said their attention is drawn to the socio-economic problems, including poverty, that have developed in the country’s current economic situation. They said that information had been included in their report.
The UNDP was represented by Azusa Kubota, the Resident Representative of the Programme in Sri Lanka, Policy Expert Chandrika Karunaratne, and Media Expert Chaturanga Hapuarachchi, while the NPP was represented by Dr Harini Amarasuriya and Bimal Rathnayake, the NPP’s national executive members.
