Ranil could also be the candidate for SLPP – Namal Rajapaksa

Current President Ranil Wickremesinghe may also be the presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (Pohottuwa), says Namal Rajapaksa, the party’s national organizer.
He stated this while answering a question raised by journalists when he was leaving after a visit to Tibbattuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thero, the Mahanayake of Malwaththe Chapter.
He stated that notwithstanding his name, the Pohottuwa symbol will definitely be seen on the presidential election ballot paper this year, the SLPP will definitely present a candidate for the presidential election, and Ranil Wickramasinghe may be among those candidates.
Speaking further, he said, “The policies of the parties in this country are being modernized to keep pace with the times. Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna is also making efforts to modernize. Anura Kumara Dissanayake went to India, Canada and America. How much did they fight back then against Indian expansionism? They have begun to change today. People have many options to choose from. People will choose the best option.”
