Dr Nalinda Jayatissa said, “It is now clear that Comrade Anura will be elected president. Your gathering here today is not the only point to confirm that. In the press conference, Madhura Vithanage, one of the few remaining MPs of that party, said that they feared their lives would be threatened if Anura Kumara Dissanayake won the September 21 general election. It is said that the reason for this is that a large number of members of the police and armed forces have rallied with the NPP.
