Whoever crosses over, people are not with them but with us – Vijitha Herath
Member of Parliament Vijitha Herath, who is on the National Executive Committee of the National People’s Power, emphasizes that no matter who crosses over to which side, the people are not with them but with ‘Malimawa’.
He emphasized this while addressing the NPP’s victory rally held at Minuwangoda yesterday (27).
Vijitha Herath said, “Everyone living in Sri Lanka and the world knows that Comrade Anura Kumara Dissanayake has already won the presidential election. Now, we have to make our victory a grand triumph. Prasanna Ranatunga, who got the most votes in this constituency and entered parliament, is now in Ranil’s lap. That day, the likes of Prasanna collected votes by scolding Ranil, saying that he was the one who had robbed the central bank and brought down the country. They are licking Ranil’s feet now. Embarrassing, isn’t it?
The other one who got the most votes in the district was Gotabaya’s friend and mentor, Nalaka Godaheva. He is now in Sajith’s lap. Don’t they have any shame? It’s embarrassing and unpleasant. The UNP was split into Ranil’s and Sajith’s teams.
At that time, 65,000 votes were cast from this Minuwangoda constituency. There are one hundred and twenty-four thousand votes in the constituency. Our Comrade Anura will definitely get 80 percent of it this time. National People’s Power will win with the highest percentage of votes from the entire Gampaha District. It is as definite as the sun and the moon. People are not with those frogs who cross over, no matter where they go. The people are with us. We will prove it on the 21st. Like Minuwangoda, today, the people of the whole country are on the side of the NPP that will build this country. Alispitiya, overflowing with people today, proves it.
Today, there is no IGP in the country. That means the chair of the chief, who is supposed to maintain the law and order of the people of the country, is empty. It is a hazardous situation. The lives of all the people of the country are in danger. There are plenty of police to protect the Prime Minister. There is no one to protect the people. Police and vehicles are following in front of the President’s Parliamentary Affairs Adviser, who is here today. How much public money is spent? It is the same for Sagala Ratnayake as well. Do these guys deserve to be protected like that? What threats do they have?
We assure the people of this country that by the 23rd of September, we will change the inert political culture that Sagala, Godaheva, Prasanna, etc., have been carrying around for so long, surrounded by elite security rings and by squandering public money. We will completely change the political culture to oust these thieves receiving offerings from the people.
Sajith’s mother is supported by whose money? With people’s money. She even had to buy mosquito coils with that money. A letter was sent to the President’s office asking for mosquito coils, pens, and pencils. Now, Sajith Premadasa is distributing ‘smart’ classrooms around the country. If possible, we would like to tell him to make a cosy ‘smart’ bedroom for his mother.
Whose money is Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who escaped from the ‘Aragalaya’ and is now living with? From people’s tax money. Even the house is paid for by the people. He gets a monthly Salary Rs. 97,500 and a monthly allowance of Rs.100,000. The monthly transport allowance is seven lakh four thousand704000.00 rupees. Does he have any duty now? No. This is all people’s tax money. Do you want to stop these? Under our rule, this theft of public money will be stopped immediately.
We have mentioned only a few instances. When thieving, waste and fraud are stopped, money will come quickly to the country. Just understand the situation. Stopping theft and waste adds a lot of money to the economy.
The country’s production has been broken down. Everything is brought from China and India. After an NPP government comes to power, our country’s production economy will be developed and systematically strengthened through short-term, medium-term, and long-term plans. We will build a manufacturing economy based on industrialization. Then, the country will gradually develop. The country will get rich. The people’s lives will be beautiful indeed.”
