National People’s Power presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake emphasizes that we need a country where everyone lives in brotherhood with national unity.
He emphasized this while addressing the National People’s Power presidential election rally held at Saindamarundu on the 13th.

“These ruling clans have ruled our country for a long time. The country and the people fell into poverty. Rulers rose, and the country fell. Let us win the presidential election on September 21 and form an NPP government to build this country.
The NPP’s victory in this election is certain. All the Sinhalese, Tamils , and Muslims living in the South have joined hands with the NPP. What is the decision of the Muslim people living in Saindamaradu? As you positively respond, the victory of the NPP is certain.
We are a country where Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, Malay and Burghers live, a country that believes in many religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity and a country where people speak two main languages, Tamil and Sinhala. Our country is a country living with many cultures. The Sinhalese have a unique culture of their own. Tamils have a unique culture of theirs, and Muslims have a unique culture of theirs. Therefore, the future of this country exists only when there is unity among these diverse groups of people. As such, the government of the NPP will give you the right to practice your religion and the right to speak your language. Creating a free country that accepts your cultural identity is the hope of the NPP.
We want a country with national unity, where everyone lives in brotherhood. That is why we came to meet you. We must win on September 21. We need not only the trust of the people in the South but also the trust of the people in the East. We also need the trust of the people of the North. For the first time in Sri Lanka, let’s form a government that accepts the people of the South, the people of the East, the people of the North and the people of the mountains. We are building a government that has won the trust of all Sinhalese, Tamil and Muslim people.
There is an ugly game in this politics. They are crossing over from one party to another. These politicians can be bought, and they jump to the side that gives the most. Where is Athavulla now? Don’t you want to stop this jumping here and there politics? Our country was ruined because of this ugly politics. Last month, they scolded and criticised; this month, they went and hugged. Shouldn’t this be changed? Now, look at Geetha Kumarasinghe. Last week, she said Ranil was at the top. This week, she says Sajith is at the top. Those who jump, as well as those who accept them, have no shame.
You know that politicians are behind the drug trade and the underworld in this country. Those guys are spending the money of drug dealers for this election. We need to maintain law and order in our country. The drug business must be eliminated. The NPP government will do it. We will build the economy of this country and improve production. These rulers never do them. They like to bring everything from other countries and sell it here. All they do is a buying and selling process. That’s when the controller gets the commission. During the governments of Rajapaksas and Ranil, boats were piled up in the sand, and dry fish was brought from the Maldives.
We will provide all necessary relief to all the fishermen who go to the sea in this country. In some coastal areas, sea erosion has increased, and some coconut plantations and buildings have been submerged. Therefore, this beach should be conserved, and an environmental inspection should be done to prevent sea erosion. By doing so, the problem should be solved. The NPP government will definitely do it. Finding a job is just a dream for the youth of this country. Those who can find jobs and leave the country to find employment abroad. We should build a beautiful country where people can live well. For that, let’s bring victory to the NPP on September 21. Let’s form a government that builds the country. A government that stops theft, punishes the politicians who stole the people’s wealth, a government that takes back the stolen property of the people is truly a people’s government in this country. On September 21, the victory of the NPP is inevitable.”
