A unique victory for Anura!

Compared to the last 2019 presidential election, the number of votes received by Anura Kumara Dissanayake in this presidential election has increased the most from the Jaffna district. The 1,375 (0.37 percent) votes received from that district in the 2019 presidential election have increased to 27,086 votes this time, which is 7.29 percent of declared valid votes. This is an increase of 25,711 votes compared to 2019. The percentage of increase is 1,969.9 percent. This is the district with the highest growth among all the districts.
Furthermore, Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s support extended to the Wanni district, with a notable increase in votes. In 2019, he received 1,156 votes, accounting for 0.54 percent of the total valid votes. This time, his votes surged to 21,412, constituting 9.86 percent of the valid votes. This substantial increase of 20,256 votes represents a significant 1,852.2 percent growth.
In 2019, he received 2,304 votes from the Batticaloa district, which is 0.76 percent. This time, it has increased to 38,832, and as a percentage, it is 12.19 percent. The number of votes increased is 36,528, and the percentage increase is 1,685.4 percent.
