Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka Andres Marcelo Gonzalez Gorrido says that the Cuban government is paying attention to medicine production in Sri Lanka.
Cuban Ambassador stated this in a discussion held with  Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday (15). He also extended the greetings of the Cuban government.
Many vital issues were discussed, including the expansion of medical and sports education scholarships for Sri Lankan training institutes and universities, further strengthening the almost 65-year-long diplomatic relationship between Sri Lanka and Cuba, and restarting the currently shelved mosquito control projects implemented under Cuban aid.
Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has expressed her gratitude for Cuba’s continuous support despite the economic challenges faced by Cuba in the past few years and has extended an official invitation to the Cuban Prime Minister to visit Sri Lanka.

The Prime Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Saputhanthri, the Prime Minister’s Additional Secretary Mahinda Gunarathne and a group of senior officials representing the Cuban government participated.
