Tharushi Abhishek breaks 39 year old record

Sri Lankan young athlete Tharushi Abhishek broke a 39-year-old under-20 (junior) athletics record today (19).
She is 16 years old, and this unique record was established when she completed the women’s 1500m event in the All-Ceylon School Athletics Tournament held at Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo today (19), finishing the race in 4:29.99 minutes.
Tharushi broke the Junior Sri Lanka record set by Dhammika Menike in 1985 in 4:35.7.
Tarushi is a student studying at Wickravamabahu Central College at Gampola.
