Sri Lanka – the most desirable island in the world

At the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards 2024, held in London, Sri Lanka was awarded the gold award as the most desirable island among the world’s tourists.

Previously, Sri Lanka was ranked 8th in this ranking.

More than 2 lakh tourists have expressed their preference for Sri Lanka.

Taiwan was second in that award category, and  Puerto Rico got third.

The award ceremony was held in 22 categories, and it is said that more than three million tourists from all over the world voted for it.

In other categories, Australia was chosen as the most preferred country, while Tokyo was selected as the most preferred city.
