President issues gazette to convene Parliament
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has issued an extraordinary gazette announcing the convening of the new Parliament meeting.
It states that the Parliament has been called to meet on 21 November 2024 at 10.00 am at the Sri Jayawardenepura Assembly Hall by Article 70 of the Constitution.
The gazette notification states:
“KNOW YE that by virtue of the powers vested in me by Article 70 of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, I, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, do by this Proclamation, summon Parliament to meet at the Chamber of Parliament, Sri Jayawardenepura, on the Twenty First day of November, Two Thousand and Twenty Four, at 10.00 a.m.
Given at Colombo on this 12th day of November, Two Thousand and Twenty Four.
