A disturbing video from Oakville, Ontario, has triggered widespread anger after showing a young white man verbally attacking an Indian employee inside a restaurant.

Canadian Man Racist Slur to Indian Worker

A video of a white man verbally attacking an Indian employee in an Oakville, Ontario restaurant, recorded on October 26, has sparked outrage and raised concerns about growing racism in Canada, amidst a rise in similar attacks and a perceived shift in public opinion towards limiting immigration.

The footage, recorded on October 26, spread rapidly across social media platforms, sparking outrage and raising new questions about growing racism in Canada.

Racist Tirade Recorded Inside Oakville Restaurant

In the viral clip, the man is seen yelling, "Go back to your fuing country, you s***-a***** Indian,"* at the employee. His tone remained aggressive throughout the encounter.

When a woman began filming the argument, he moved toward her threateningly and repeated his hateful words, ignoring her attempts to calm him down.

The video left viewers horrified. While most condemned his actions, a few online users disturbingly appeared to support the man's behaviour.

So far, the Halton Police have not shared any official comment or confirmed whether they are investigating the incident.

Increasing Attacks on Indian-Origin People

This incident is the latest in a series of racist attacks aimed at people of Indian descent in Canada. The issue appears to be getting more frequent in different cities.

Earlier in October, Ontario legislator Hardeep Grewal shared that he had been verbally abused by two individuals who used racial slurs against him in public.

In another case, hateful graffiti reading "Indian rats" was discovered beside a children's park in Mississauga, part of the Greater Toronto Area.

Following that, Peel Regional Police formed a dedicated Hate Crime Unit. One of its first arrests was 29-year-old Freda Looker-Rilloraza, accused of painting the racist message.

Growing Intolerance and Changing Attitudes in Canada

Canada has long enjoyed a reputation for embracing immigrants and promoting cultural harmony, but in recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in intolerance and divisive attitudes across the country.

Rising living costs, job insecurity, and heated online debates have further fuelled anti-immigrant sentiments, giving space to far-right groups that push the controversial idea of "remigration."

According to a Leger poll conducted for the Association for Canadian Studies, nearly 60% of Canadians now believe the nation should limit immigration, marking a clear change in public opinion.

This growing sentiment has alarmed many Canadians who still view their country as one of the most welcoming and inclusive societies in the world.
