The woman lodged a formal complaint with the police about the man's indecent behaviour during her travels. Following her report and the viral video's circulation, Sri Lankan authorities initiated an investigation and arrested a 23-year-old man from Kalawanchikudi related to the incident.
In an Instagram caption accompanying her video, she emphasised that this was an isolated incident and should not define Sri Lanka. "I debated sharing this - but this is the reality of solo travel as a woman," she wrote.
