Sri Lanka A were eliminated from the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 after a narrow 05-run defeat against Pakistan A in the decisive match played yesterday (Nov. 21).

Chasing a target of 154, SL-A managed only 148 for 09 in their allotted 20 overs.

The innings began on a strong note, with SL-A racing to 45 for 02 in just 04 (3.2) overs.

However, a sudden collapse saw them slip to 99 for 08 in 14 (13.2) overs.

At that point, Milan Rathnayake and Traveen Mathew revived hopes with a crucial 47-run partnership for the 9th wicket.

SL-A then needed 15 runs off the final over.

Milan Rathnayake hit a boundary and scored 08 runs off 04 balls, narrowing the gap significantly.

However, after scoring 40 runs off 32 deliveries, he was dismissed in the final over when Sri Lanka still needed 13 runs to win.

Earlier yesterday, Bangladesh defeated India in the first semi-final.
