He instructed US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and military leaders to accomplish this by the end of the day. Trump stated, "American citizens will be very shortly able to go to Venezuela, and they'll be safe there."

Earlier this week, Trump's administration informed Congress about initial steps to possibly reopen the US Embassy in Venezuela. This move comes as part of efforts to restore relations with Venezuela following a US military raid that removed former President Nicolás Maduro from power. The State Department communicated these intentions through letters sent to ten House and Senate committees.

US-Venezuela Diplomatic Relations
