Opening batter Pathum Nissanka was named Sri Lanka’s Cricketer of the Year for 2025 at the annual Sri Lanka Cricket Awards ceremony held in Colombo last evening (06).
Sri Lanka women’s captain Chamari Athapaththu was crowned Women’s Cricketer of the Year, capping off another outstanding year with multiple individual honours.
Nissanka also won the Best Test Batter award, while left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya was named Best Test Bowler. Test captain Dhananjaya de Silva received the Best Test All-Rounder award.
In the One-Day International (ODI) category, Asitha Fernando was recognised as Best ODI Bowler, Charith Asalankawon Best ODI Batter, and Wanindu Hasaranga was named Best ODI All-Rounder.
In the Twenty20 category, Dushmantha Chameera secured the Best T20 Bowler award, while Nissanka added to his achievements by winning Best T20 Batter. Dasun Shanaka was named Best T20 All-Rounder.
Athapaththu continued her dominance in the women’s awards, claiming Best Women’s ODI Bowler and Best Women’s ODI All-Rounder, while Harshitha Samarawickrama was named Best Women’s ODI Batter.
In the women’s T20 category, Kavisha Dilhari won Best Women’s T20 Bowler, while Athapaththu completed a memorable evening by securing both the Best Women’s T20 Batter and Best Women’s T20 All-Rounder awards.
The ceremony also recognised emerging talent, with Kamil Mishara receiving the Emerging Men’s Cricketer award and Imesha Dulani being named Emerging Women’s Cricketer.
