Shiranthi Rajapaksa Summoned by FCID on October 13

Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, has been summoned to appear before the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) on October 13, following her return to Sri Lanka last night (October 05).

The police notice relates to an ongoing investigation being conducted by the FCID.

Rajapaksa was previously asked to present herself at the division on September 24. However, she departed for Singapore on September 16 citing medical treatment, bypassing the earlier summons.

Meanwhile, she filed an anticipatory bail application at the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court yesterday (October 05), seeking an order to prevent her potential arrest.
