A meeting between Gyeongnam Provincial Mayor and JVP
A meeting between JVP National Organizer Bimal Ratnayake, who is in South Korea for the 34th November Heroes Commemoration organized by the JVP Committee in South Korea and for some other political activities of the party, and Lee Jong Hee, the Chief Mayor of Yangsan, Gyeongnam Province, South Korea has taken place on the 24th.
This local government agency provides services to more than 450,000 people living in the area and mainly monitors 9,000 factories in the region.
According to official information, around 2,500 foreign workers work in this province.
Discussions were centred on politics, the economy, the problems faced by Sri Lankan workers in South Korea, their welfare, and new job opportunities and investments.
Darshana Wijesinghe, JVP’s organizer in South Korea and Janaka Nagahawatta, president of South Korea’s branch of the Ethera Api organization, were also present.
