Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd. has announced a donation of Rs. 10 million to the Government’s newly established ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund to support national recovery efforts following the extensive damage caused by Cyclone Ditwah, which has left thousands displaced and caused severe destruction to infrastructure across the country.

The donation was formally handed over by Xiong Hongfeng, Managing Director of Port City Colombo, to Harshana Suriyapperuma, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, at the Ministry of Finance. The process was facilitated by the Colombo Port City Economic Commission (CPCEC).

In addition to the financial contribution, the company has deployed 12 units of disaster-response machinery, including excavators, loaders, backhoes and trucks, to assist with emergency clean-up operations and the restoration of transport access in affected regions. CHEC Port City Colombo has also mobilised skilled technical personnel and vowed continued support for bridge repairs, road restoration and reconnecting isolated communities.

“Sri Lanka has been a trusted partner for decades. Today, we stand with its people, not merely as developers, but as friends and long-term partners committed to rebuilding lives and communities,” said Xiong Hongfeng, Managing Director of Port City Colombo.
