Anura is not a communalist; my statement was wrong – Rauf Hakeem

In a discussion held on a YouTube channel, Rauf Hakeem, the leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, stated that the presidential candidate of the National People’s Power, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, is not a communalist and the statement he had made that Anura Kumara Dissanayake is a communalist is wrong.
In a public meeting held recently Rauf Hakeem, the leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, had said that Anura Kumara Dissanayake had stated in Parliament that terrorists grow from the womb of every Muslim mother.
Responding, NPP presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who expressed his strong opposition to the statement, stated that Hakeem might have made the statement without properly understanding the meaning of his words. However, if Hakeem did not change his stand on the statement he made legal action would be taken against him. If he apologizes, there would not be any necessity to take legal action.
After that, Rauf Hakeem, the leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, was not seen making those erroneous statements, and if the statement he made was true, he had the opportunity to continue making it.
In a YouTube discussion held, he had said that he accepted Anura’s explanation and that he too was a little excited at the time. Accordingly, by now he has started talking calmly.
After this particular interview on the YouTube channel, Rauf Hakeem, the leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, said that Anura Kumara Dissanayake was not a nationalist when speaking on another occasion.
