Austrian beauty influencer Stefanie Pieper was discovered dead in a forested area in Slovenia on Friday, ending a week-long search that began when she went missing.

Austrian model killed

Austrian beauty influencer Stefanie Pieper was found dead in Slovenia after her ex-boyfriend confessed to her murder, leading investigators to the location. The 31-year-old allegedly strangled Pieper and has been extradited to Austria, while his brother and stepfather were also detained, and the motive is still unknown.

The grim discovery was made after her ex-boyfriend allegedly confessed to killing her and directed investigators to the location where her body had been hidden.

Confession Leads Investigators to the Body

According to Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung, the 31-year-old former boyfriend told police he strangled Pieper before placing her body in a suitcase and dumping it in the forest. His confession marked a major turn in the case, which had escalated rapidly after Pieper's disappearance.

Pieper's relatives and friends had reported her missing when they were unable to contact her ahead of a planned photoshoot. She was last seen by friends after attending a Christmas party, raising concerns when she failed to show up or respond to messages.

Troubling Messages Before Disappearance

Local reports noted that Pieper had sent her friends a WhatsApp message saying she had reached home. This was followed by another unsettling text in which she said someone had followed her and was in the stairwell of her building.

People Magazine, citing local media, reported that neighbors had heard arguing and allegedly spotted Pieper's ex-boyfriend in the building around the time she disappeared.

Car Fire Leads to Arrest

A breakthrough came when the suspect's car caught fire at a casino near the Austrian border. After his arrest, he allegedly confessed to the crime and took police to the site where Pieper's body was located. Slovenian authorities later extradited him to Austria for further investigation.

Relatives Also Detained

Police have also arrested two of the suspect's relatives, identified as his brother and stepfather. Their involvement remains under scrutiny as authorities continue to piece together the events leading to Pieper's death. The motive behind the murder remains unclear as the probe continues.
