Today (13), in the morning, the Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Mr Eric Walsh, met Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of the National People’s Power, at the JVP head office.
Mr. Patrick Pickering, Second Secretary (Political) of the Canadian High Commission in Sri Lanka and Vijitha Herath, National Executive Member for the National People’s Power, were also present.
The current socio-economic and political situation in Sri Lanka was discussed at length, and views were also exchanged between the two sides on the plans of the National People’s Power for building national unity. The High Commissioner also took this opportunity to congratulate Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his upcoming visit to Canada to meet Sri Lankans living in Canada.
